Dear Sweet Carolyn ! I met you, while I was in the women's Shelter with my two daughters in 2001. Among all the angels at the shelter, you were very special.  Your tireless commitment to the women there, specially to me and my girls, I will always cherish.  You continued to write to me and my girls, even after we left the shelter. Your letters ended with the loving address as "your American mother" to me and to my girls "your American Grandmother".  You wanted to adopt us.  I remember the High Tea you organised for us as a farewell parting surprise. My girls and I still cherish the books that you gave us and mailed to us to UK. I lovingly remember the time you took me and girls to meet your mother and your sisters at your beautiful home.  We stayed there for dinner and chatting for a long time.  I still have the Brooch that you sent me.  Although it was a dark time for me and my girls at the time, it was meant to be that I met you and the other Angels at the women's shelter.  Rest in Peace our sweet American Mother and Grandmother ! Rest in Peace among the Angels ! Yours lovingly, adopted daughter, Sandy....

I will always be grateful for Carolyn’s friendship. We had many long talks together over the years at church. I am sorry that my goddaughter’s wedding in upstate New York on May 11th will prevent my attending Carolyn’s memorial service. I promise I will be thinking of her that day.

Carolyn was my cousin, a dear woman.  She was always there for me.  I'll miss her.
