Donald L. Snavely, 67, of Utica passed away February 7, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born February 23, 1951 to the late Donald E. and Neva Jean (Clark) Snavely of Bucyrus, Ohio.
Donald was a 1969 graduate of Mount Vernon High School. He worked at Continental Can for 28 years and then was employed by Burrows Paper Corporation from where he retired. Donald was a previous member of the Claylick Bowhunters; The Heath Eagles in Newark; VFW, Moose and AMVETS of Mount Vernon and American Legion of Utica.
He was an avid Harley rider who always liked to take the lead. Donald was a fan of OSU and Bengals football, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife Karen S. (Poulton) Snavely; half sisters Kathy Schnapp of Marion and Martha Snavely of Thornville; step sister Ann Fry of Mount Vernon; brothers Garry and Richard Snavely of Utica; half brother Scott Smith of Martinsburg; sons Joshua Snavely of Iowa and Donnie O'Quinn of Croton; step sons Trent Davis of Fredericktown and Randy Davis of Howard; three grandchildren; four step grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; his dog Harley.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents; step parents Ben and Marge Runyon and a step brother Jeff Holmes.
A memorial service will be held at the Heath Eagles on Hollander Street in Newark February 23, 2019 from 1:00 – 4:00.
