Earl David Ferguson, age 82, of Mount Vernon, passed away June 1, 2019 at the Tiffin Mercy Hospital. He was born September 15, 1936 in Mount Vernon to Charles David and Mary Francena (Flecknoe) Ferguson.
Earl was a 43 year employee at Cooper Energy Service, retiring in 1998. He attended the Fredericktown First Baptist Church and the Fredericktown Seventh Day Adventist Church. He was a former member of the Grange and the Moose Lodge. He enjoyed reading, golfing, car shows, auctions, and fishing.
He is survived by one daughter Melodie (Michael) Little of Marion, one grandson David (Erika) Little of Marion, great granddaughter Lauren Little; loving companion Carolyn Seymour of Fredericktown, sister Ada (Russell) Lamb of Fredericktown, brothers Robert (Lily) Ferguson of Bellville and John (Drea) Ferguson of Fredericktown; step-brother Ronald Teeter of Lucas; step-sisters Martha (Rodney) Walker of Bellville and Bessie Kline of Lexington.
Besides his parents and step-father Dory Teeter, he was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years Wilma Ferguson in February 2015.
Friends may call at the Lasater Funeral Home on Wednesday from 5:00-8:00 PM, where funeral services will be Thursday at 11:00 AM with Pastor Ron Vozar officiating. Burial will follow at the Owl Creek Church of the Brethren Cemetery.
Memorial Contributions may be made in Earl's memory to the Alzheimer Association or St. Judes Children's Research Hospital.
