Glenn "Wink" VanHouten Sr.

June 7, 1936 ~ March 18, 2019 (age 82)

Glenn “Wink” VanHouten Sr., 82 of Fredericktown, passed away at Country Club Retirement Campus on March 18, 2019 surrounded by his family. He was born June 6, 1936 in Knox County to Roy and Dorothy (Price) VanHouten.

Glenn was employed for 50 years at Steven Motor Sales as an Auto Technician or a “Grease Monkey” as Glenn liked to be called. He enjoyed fishing and detailing cars in his spare time. Glenn's fondest memory is when his Uncle Bill caught a 25 pound coon.

Glenn was survived by his children; son Glenn Jr. VanHouten, daughters Melody (Mike) Lahmon and Beth (Richard) Arndt; son Roy Van Houten all from Mount Vernon; grandchildren Richard Jr., Theresa, Corey and Heather and 11 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Tom, Ed and Ted; sisters Maxine, Peg and Violet.

The family will be observing private services.
