Irma L. White, of Mount Vernon, passed away February 23, 2018. Irma was born May 2, 1929 in Mount Vernon to Paul L. Van Develde and Elsie M. (Tier) Van Develde and had lived in her lifetime in Knox County. She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth F. White, her parents, two sisters, four brothers and daughter-in-law, Marita White.
Irma graduated from Mount Vernon High School. Over the years she volunteered at the hospital, the Kenyon College Library and St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, where she was a member. Irma was an avid Ohio State Buckeye fan, she loved watching both football and basketball.
Surviving are four sons, John W. White of Asheville, NC, Dennis F. (Rochelle) White of Ostrander, Timothy L. (Debra) White of Port Clinton and Robin D. (Tammy) White of Columbus; two grandson, Andrew (Nikki) White of Baltimore, MD and Nathaniel (Jullian) White of Port Clinton, and a great granddaughter, Emerson White of Port Clinton.
A private burial will take place in Oak Grove Cemetery in Gambier.
Irma’s family would like to acknowledge and thank the many special people that have assisted in Irma’s care within the last year. Ohio Eastern Star nurses and aides that have loved her and taken exceptional care of her. Knox County Health Department, aides, and nurses, and Hospice of Knox County. All have provided amazing care.
