Lawrence W. Fawcett, age 65, of Mount Vernon, passed away June 30, 2019 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. He was born August 6, 1953 in Mount Vernon to James and Betty (Hall) Fawcett.
He loved spending time with his three grandchildren. He enjoyed golf league, bowling league and socializing at the Moose and Eagles Clubs. He was a dedicated Browns fan but enjoyed watching the Buckeyes most. He loved riding his motorcycle, singing karaoke and playing Santa for little ones. One of his favorite places to be was in Pennsylvania at the East Coast Gold Cup Horseshoe club with all of his friends who have become family.
He is survived by his two daughters Martha (Charlie) Long and Laura Fawcett both of Mount Vernon; three grandchildren Emmalee Fawcett, Owen Long, and Eli Fuller; his mother Betty Fawcett Snyder of Mount Vernon; four sisters Helena Smith, Candy (John) Hunter, Louise Dill all of Mount Vernon and Tina (Frank) Cousins of Mount Gilead; one half brother Frank Snyder of Mount Vernon.
He was preceded in death by his father James W. Fawcett, brother James S. Fawcett, and mother of his children Brenda Fawcett.
Calling hours will be held at the Lasater Funeral Home, 11337 Upper Gilchrist Road, on Friday, July 5, 2019 from 5:00-7:00 PM. A Memorial Service will begin at 7:00 PM with Pastor Richard Hite officiating. Graveside Services will be held on Saturday beginning at 10:00 AM in Mound View Cemetery. A Celebration of Life meal will follow service at St. Paul's Parrish House, 100 East High Street.
