Mildred A. “Nan” Green, age 79, of Mount Vernon, passed away on Feb. 13, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born on Nov 7, 1938 in Honaker, Virginia to the late Jay and Eula (Honaker) Wilson.
Mildred was an avid sports fan of many teams. She loved the OSU Buckeyes, Cincinnati Reds, Cleveland Indians, Dallas Cowboys, Cleveland Cavaliers and the Cleveland Browns. She also enjoyed traveling and going gambling.
Mildred is survived by her three daughters, Wanda (Jerry) Murphy, Lisa (Glen) Goodwin, Holly (Ron) Moss; grandchildren, Angela (Brad) Bowers, Jason Murphy, Shon Mosby, Jay (Pauline) Goodwin, Sierra ( Devon) McDonough, Dakota Moss, nine great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter, and her canine companion Axel.
She was preceded in death by parents, two daughters Diana L. Mosby and Mary Atkinson, husband James D. Green, and one brother Clyde Wilson.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 15, from 5:00-8:00 PM at the Lasater Funeral Home, 11337 Upper Gilchrist Road, Mount Vernon. Graveside services will be held on Friday at 1:00PM at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens with Ken Peter and Kevin Lamb officiating. Friends are encouraged to wear their favorite team colors or apparel to calling hours and graveside service.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to be made to Hospice of Knox County in Mildred’s memory.
