Roberta Sakala, age 92, of Mount Vernon, passed away on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at Country Club Retirement Campus surrounded by her family.
She was born on March 29, 1926 in Mount Vernon and was the daughter of the late Charles and Frances (Agnew) Davis.
Roberta was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and always found and brought joy with being with her family and friends.
She is survived by her son, Paul (Vicky) Sakala of Lexington and her daughter, Rita Snyder of Mount Vernon; three grandchildren, Danelle Miller, Melissa (T.J.) Peck and Brian Snyder; two great-grandchildren, Mackenzie and Austin Peck; three nieces, Linda, Karen, Marilayn; a nephew, Bob; along with her lifelong close friend, Betty George.
Roberta was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew J. Sakala; sister, Arlene Davis, four brothers, Donald, Robert, Charles and Gene Davis.
Friends may call on Monday from 5- 7 PM at Lasater Funeral Home, 11337 Upper Gilchrist Rd. in Mount Vernon, where a Prayer Service will follow calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Tuesday – 10 AM at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with Father Mark J. Hammond as Celebrant. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
