Thomas Ronald Fraser, age 86, of Mount Vernon, passed away on Monday, August 19, 2019 at The Ohio Eastern Star Home.
He was born on July 16, 1933 in Glasgow, Scotland to the late Thomas and Elizabeth (Gardiner) Fraser.
He immigrated to the U.S. in 1952 and became an American Citizen. He retired from both Kelsey Hayes and Cooper Energy Services. He served on the Zoning Board of Appeals, Civil Service Commission of Mount Vernon, was a former elder of The First Presbyterian Church, and a member of the Mid-Ohio Scottish Heritage Association.
As a member of the Masonic Lodge for over 50 years, his memberships included Mount Vernon #9 F & AM Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite 32⁰ Masons of Scioto Valley, Knox County Baldwin Shrine Club, Kam Ram Grotto, Aladdin Shrine of Columbus, Aladdin Kentucky Colonels, and The Royal Order of Scotland.
Ron is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Margaret (McFarlane) Fraser; his three children, Ron (Amy) Fraser Jr. of Cincinnati, Marcy (David) Williams of Apple Valley, Allison (Rick) Ernsberger of Mount Vernon; two grandchildren, Ian Fraser (Kate) Ernsberger of Mount Vernon and Tyler Fraser of Cincinnati; along with a brother-in-law, Tom McFarlane of Mount Vernon.
Friends may call on Saturday from 12 noon till 2:00 PM at Lasater Funeral Home, 11337 Upper Gilchrist Rd. in Mount Vernon, where a Masonic service will follow at 2:00 PM by Mt. Zion Lodge #9.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Baldwin Shrine Club or MTV Arts.
