Bonnie Jean (Gibson) Hall, age 88 went peacefully to her Heavenly Home on Sunday, November 1, 2020. She was born in Newark, Ohio on July 11, 1932 to the late Arthur and Beatrice (Beckholt) Westlake. Bonnie is survived by her two loving daughters Libby (Kenny) Elkins and Carole (Bob) McFarland both of Mount Vernon, Ohio; Grandchildren Kevin (Erica) Bricker, Kari (Brian) Gianangeli, Elizabeth (Drew) Kefalonitis, Bridget (Michael) McCloud, Emily (Bret) Philabaum, Sarah (Josh) Fletcher, Mary Kim Elkins-Greenspan (David) and Myles McFarland. Bonnie was blessed with 20 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 23 years, Bobby Gibson, father of her two daughters and blessed later in life by meeting and falling in love with Dean Hall who she married in 2000. Bonnie was a member of Green Valley Baptist Church where she worshipped for many years and whose first husband helped to build the Church. She was proud of her Baptist upbringing and was eager to spread God's word to everyone she met. While raising her two girls, she enjoyed working in the historic retail area of Mount Vernon at Rudins and JCPenney's where she never met a stranger. Her love of fashion and makeup stayed with her till the end and there was never a time when her beautiful face did not shine. She retired from Kenyon College Bookstore in 1997 after 15 years, where she loved interacting with all the students and greeted many by their first name. She will be dearly missed by all her family, especially her grandchildren, all of whom made special memories with her over the years.
There will be a private family showing and reception held at the Lasater Funeral Home on Friday, November 6, 2020 followed by a public graveside service at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens beginning at 2:00pm with Pastor Bill Barton officiating.
