Carolyn Jean Sisley

1945 - 2021



Carolyn Jean Sisley, age 75, of Gambier, passed away March 17, 2021at the Knox Community Hospital.  She was born October 31, 1945 in Butler, PA to Ralph E. and Leona C. (Yost) Dietrich and step mother Cynthia Pierce.

Carolyn was a member of the Fredericktown Seventh Day Adventist Church.  She was a professional seamstress. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, taking care of her flower beds, feeding and watching the birds.

She is survived by her loving husband Mark W. Sisley to whom she married February 19, 1977; three sons Matthew, Adam and Brian Sisley; sisters and brothers Evelyn (Len) Oesterling, Phyllis Donmoyer, Chester Dietrich, Edna Mae (Don) Neff, Vera Angles, Carl Dietrich, Howard Dietrich, Winifred (Denny) Hiles, Kathleen (John) Sherman, Rose (Tom) Mainhart; Carolyn had a number of nieces and nephews and grandchildren.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her step mother Cynthia Pierce and a brother Glenn Dietrich.

There will be no services at this time.   A burial in Martinsburg Cemetery will take place at a later date.  The Lasater Funeral Home is assisting with funeral arrangements.

Jeans family, So sorry for the loss of Jean...I'll always remember her/I working together at Rogate.  Such a beautiful soul to work with, we had such a good time together.  Lost touch with her until I ran into her at Lannings one day.  She gave me her business card for sewing.  Sure missed seeing her when she decided not to do that any more.  Rest in Peace Jean...I'll always remember working with you!!

Jean was the best older sister anyone could want. She was loving and kind to everyone . She put her whole heart into everything she did. I will always remember the times we had together. Love you always
