Dale D. Maxwell, 69 of Mount Vernon passed away at Knox Community Hospital on July 19, 2020. He was born on August 27, 1950 to Richard Dale and Beatrice Ann (Petty) Maxwell in Durham, NC.
Dale was a self employed master carpenter and custom home designer for his entire career. A true artist, Dale's custom homes and barns can be found throughout the country and internationally. His most precious of homes was his parent's retirement home in Lake Lure, North Carolina. Dale designed and hand drew the majestic timber frame home, and it was built together as a family.
Dale enjoyed life's beauty and lived in each moment. He deeply loved his family and his beloved Cynthia. Dale enjoyed carpentry, sports, music and watching westerns on TV. Dale was always fond of sunsets and believed they are the closest one can be with God.
He is survived by his loving spouse Cynthia Collander; children Micah Maxwell of Corinth, TX, Cedar (Mick) Well of Lewis Center, OH; and Asher (Kelly) Maxwell of Canal Winchester, OH; Step-son Eric Edward (Rebecca DeNeau) Collander of Oberlin, OH; Grandchildren Ryan, Alexis, Khloe, Miley, Aspen, Brixton, Emmalyn, and Dani; a sister Jo Ann Maxwell; a brother Gary Maxwell; nieces Priya and Lindsey and nephews Shyam and David; cousin Jerry (Rebecca) Fisher of Naples, FL; numerous colleagues and dear friends including Greg, Charlie, Richard, John, the late Ray, Bryan, Dennis and Sher and so many more with whom Dale shared his love and passion for adding beauty to this world through his work.
Dale was preceded in death by his mother and father.
