Eileen Moore, age 98, of Mount Vernon, passed away on Thursday, July 15, 2021 at her home surrounded family.
She was born on June 24, 1923 in Fredericktown to the late Don and Vera (Randall) Tyson.
Eileen was a devoted and loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Great Great Grandmother. She truly loved her family. Eileen and Bob have known each other for over 90 years. They attended elementary school as classmates at Hiawatha school in Mt.Vernon,growing up in the same neighborhood. There were a group of kids in that area known as the Pine Ridgers, they were a part of that group.They graduated from Mt.Vernon High school in 1941. This year was their 80th high school Graduation. Eileen and Bob married December 31, 1941. Shortly after their marriage, Bob left for the Army during WWII. He was gone 3 years 6 months and 18 days serving his time in North Africa, Italy, Germany and France. Eileen worked in the photography business and sold China while anxiously awaiting Bob's return. After returning they built a home on the Upper Fredericktown Rd. in 1947 and started a family, Gary 1947 , Don 1949 and Mike 1954. Eileen was a successful real estate agent, acquiring her real estate license in the mid 60s with Central Realty, later acquiring her brokers license with her own office as Moore Realty. Eileen retired in the mid 80s. After retiring, Eileen and Bob traveled across Canada and the United States spending time in Florida in the winter months the past 30 years. Eileen and Bob have celebrated many anniversaries together with their children from Nashville Grand Ole Opry Hotel, to their 75th at the Liberty Aviation Museum, New Years Eve Mom Wearing her Wedding dress and Dad his WWII uniform. This New Years would be their 80th.
Eileen is survived by her loving husband of almost 80 years, Robert (Bob) Moore; her three sons; Gary (Diane) Moore, Don Moore and Michael (Marcia) Moore all of Mount Vernon; four grandchildren, Brian, Heather, Jennifer and Cory; great-grandchildren, Andrea, Matthew, Elliette, Keira, Raegan and Bray; great great-grandchildren, Jayce, Brileigh, Emersyn and Ensley.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Gerald and Richard Tyson; and a sister, Betty Hill.
Friends may call on Thursday, July 22, 2021 from 5;00 -7:00 PM at Lasater Funeral Home. Where funeral services will be held on Friday starting at 11:30 AM. Burial will follow in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
