JoAnne Yoakam, age 85, of Mount Vernon passed away February 26, 2020 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born February 17, 1935 in Mount Vernon to Wesley and Mildred (Gantt) Harding.
Jo Anne was a member of the Central Christian Church. She attended activities Senior Citizens Center in Fredericktown. She loved flowers but more importantly loved being a Grandma.
She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Don L. Yoakam; one daughter Debra (Bud) Fickes of Bellville; one son David (Pam) Yoakam of Centerburg; four grandchildren April, Kelly,Sarah, and Naomi; four great-grandchildren Audrey, Colton, Drew and Winston, and two great-great grandchildren Daniel and Sugar Biscuit; one sister Ruth Gullett of Mount Vernon and one brother Jack Harding of Fairborn, Ohio.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers Eugene and Carroll Harding, two brother in laws Elmer Gullett and Dick Wolford, and one sister in law Betty Harding.
Services orginally scheduled for March 20, 2020 at 1:00PM are being postponed at this time. There will be a Celebration of Life Service held at a later date at the Central Christian Church with Mr. Ken Springer and Mr. Patrick Bailey officiating. A private burial will take place in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
