Kennda Gean Melick, 81 of Mount Vernon passed away on June 25, 2021 at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born on October 1, 1939 to Doc and Lindel (Evans) Courm in Clay County Arkansas.
Kennda is survived by her husband Owen; a daughter Cameo Fisher; son in law John Rummell; Grandchildren Angela Enloe, Amanda Jones, Dalin Jones, Kayla Enloe, Kara and Gregory Morris, Troy (Crystal) Fisher, Chelsa Burke (JT Hill); a brother Bubby Evans; special friends Annie and John Bell; numerous nieces, nephews, great and great great-grand children.
Kennda loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She went home to be with the Lord on Friday June 25th surrounded by her family. Kennda and Owen would've celebrated their 46th anniversary on June 26th.
Kennda loved all animals, especially her special dog Ebony. She loved the way all her grandchildren called her Grammie. Kennda enjoyed her flowers, gardening, camping, house boating and vacationing with family. Kennda retired in 1998 after 28 years of service at American National Can.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Jimmy and Wayne Evans; sisters Katherine Groves, Becky Austin and Rita Payton; children Renee Rummell, Linnie Jones, Jr. and Wesley Varner and a grandson Kristofer Jones.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Kennda's memory to The Church on the Rise or Hospice of Knox County.
Calling hours will be on July 1, 2021 at the Lasater Funeral Home from 5:00 – 7:00pm. Funeral Services will be on July 2, 2021 at 11:00am at the Lasater Funeral Home.
