Obituary

Lloyd Hobart Brown, 88 of Gambier passed away on October 9, 2021, at Mansfield Hospital Hospice. He was born on June 24, 1933, to Lloyd and Creta (Benedict) Brown in Mount Vernon.

Hobart was a US Navy Veteran of the Korean War serving as a hospital man. He was retired from Cooper Energy Services. He was a volunteer fire chief for 30 years for College and Monroe Twp. Fire Department He also was a trustee for Monroe Twp. He was well loved and respected by his family and many people in the community.

He is survived by his wife Patricia (Mahaffey) Brown; daughters Debra Lewellyn of Grandville, OH, Wendy Jo Brown or Gambier, OH; two grandchildren Whitney Llewellyn; and Erin Brown and one great grandchild and many extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son Michael Ray Brown.

Calling hours will be held on Friday November 5, 2021, from 4:00 – 7:00pm at Snyder Funeral Home – Lasater Chapel, 11337 Upper Gilchrist Rd., Mount Vernon.

Memorial Contributions can be made in his honor to Knox Technical Center Public Safety Fire Program.
