Lloyd Reinbeau of Mount Vernon, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at the age of 91.
He was born to William D. Reinbeau and Verna R. Robinson on December 31st, 1929 in Huntington, West Virginia and resided in Newark, Ohio, his hometown for many years of his life.
Lloyd was a lover of the Arts. He was an accomplished guitarist in both contemporary and classical music, a talented artist, and an excellent writer. He was a member of The Country Ramblers band that often performed at Hillbilly Park in Licking County back in the 1950’s and taught the art of classical guitar for several years. Knowledge was his food and fodder thus he was an avid reader with a passion for books and the written word. As a naturalist, he found his strength, nurture, and peace in the wonder and solitude of the creation.
A Veteran of the Korean War, he willingly and proudly served in the 187th Airborne Regimental Combat Team, parachuting behind enemy lines on recognizance missions. He was a member of the Knox County Joint Veterans Council Honor Guard performing graveside gun salute ceremonies to honor deceased veterans.
His living was made as owner and contractor of Rainbow Roofing in Newark, Ohio.
Lloyd is preceded in death by his loving and devoted wife of 43 years, Fleda, his son Michael Reinbeau, and five siblings. Surviving is his daughter Kathi Reinbeau Siegel, son Dana Reinbeau (Barbara), stepdaughter Sheila Witkowski, and stepdaughter Rachelle Dallas: plus 6 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren with number 17 on the way.
