M. Ruth Bowers, age 89, of Mount Vernon, passed away January 4, 2021 at her home surrounded by family. She was born on September 27, 1931 in Mount Vernon to Carl George and Elizabeth Roberta (Foraker) Botkin.

Ruth was employed at MVDC for 33 years retiring in 1996.

Left to cherish her memory are her two daughters: Charlotte (Joe) Forster of Howard and Roberta (Jeff) Posey of Fredericktown; six grandchildren Scott (Adriane) Forster, Jamie Forster, Paige (Matt) Baughman, TJ (Leeanne) Baughman, Sara (Jacob) Green and Heather (Ty) Tschantz; 14 great-grandchildren; and one brother William (Chanthy) Botkin of Arizona.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Charles Bowers in 1994, infant son Robert Thomas Bowers, and infant sister Harriett Lucille Botkin.

The family will observe a private burial in Mound View Cemetery.
