Obituary

Nedria E. Haldeman, 95 of Mount Vernon passed away on February 13, 2020 at Brookdale of Mount Vernon surrounded by her family.
She was born to Charles and Alfaretta (Van Horn) Sowards on January 22, 1925 in Logan County.
Nedria along with her husband Clarence founded the Mt. Vernon Bottled Gas Company on St. Rt. 13 in 1946. Nedria was dedicated to this company for 57 years. This company and her family were the love of her life.
She is survived by a daughter Jan (Beryl) Lybarger of Mount Vernon; 3 sons Clarence “Ed” (Jeanie) Haldeman Jr. of Tennessee, Vince (Mary) Haldeman of Mount Vernon and Dennis (Lynette) Haldeman of Mount Vernon; 9 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren.
Nedria was preceded in death by her husband Clarence E. Haldeman, a brother Vinton Lewis Sowards and a sister Vivian Renyolds.
The family would like to say thank you and express their gratitude for the staff of Kindred Hospice and the staff of the memory care unit at Brookdale of Mount Vernon. The family has also asked in lieu of flowers, please make a memorial donations to: Kindred Hospice or Brookdale of Mount Vernon.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at the Lasater Funeral Home. Where funeral services will be held on Thursday starting at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
