William Manse Harger, 78 of Mount Vernon passed away at Ohio Eastern Star Home on January 1, 2020. He was born to Robert and Mary (Cook) Harger of Fort Smith, Arkansas on February 20, 1941. William grew up in Clendenin, WV and raised his family in Gahanna, OH until retiring to Mount Vernon.
He was a member of the Riley Chapel Baptist Church. He had a long tenure with Morris-Skilkin and then Roslovic Construction in Columbus as a project manager. He was a member of the Carpenter Local 200 for 40 years. He loved his farm that he built, which showed his mastery of carpentry. William was an avid hunter and fisherman. He cherished his time in Chokoloskee Island, FL and the 10,000 Islands, where he spent many hours fishing. He loved all his dogs, but was especially fond of his black lab Annie, which was his long time companion.
William is survived by his wife Patricia of 59 years; son Timothy M. (Dana) Harger of Fort Meyers, FL, daughter Kristi (Robert) McVay of Mount Vernon, sons Kirk (Mary) Harger of London, OH and Bradley (Debra) Harger of Chokoloskee, FL; Grandchildren Alyssa, Robert, William, Jacob, David and Emma; Great-grandchildren Madalynn, Macy, Lyla and Lulu; sisters in law Vickee (David) Kitts of Winfield, WV and Becky (Mike) Ashley of Creed, WV.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Mitchell Harger.

Family and friends may call on Saturday January 4, 2020 from 11:00 – 12:00pm, with funeral services starting at 12:00pm.
